The Lumineers recently performed their biggest headlining show to date in front of 50,000+ fans in Denver. NOCOAST provided 8K resolution capture on the DJI Inspire 3 drone and the Sony Burano Cinema cameras.

I was the drone pilot for this amazing show with Bob Moses – a concert film directed by Alex Kolb and produced by Butter Creations. This production was sort of next level, featuring 12K Blackmagic cameras, a variety of anamorphic lenses, a talented Steadicam op, and a 30-foot jib.

NOCOAST produced this concert film with Maren Morris and the Colorado Symphony to raise funds for the Youth Concert Financial Aid Program, helping make live symphonic music accessible to students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend.

We recently worked with one of our favorite musicians, Sierra Hull, and filmed “Spitfire” at a local music venue. The approach was simple by design due to a quick deadline, so we filmed her with a circular dolly track on the Sony Venice 2 8K camera with Canon V35 lenses.

In this song, Dan sings that “the process is the destination,” and this quote is true in many ways. Not only does it represent the life of a singer-songwriter who is often on the road, but it also symbolizes my life as a director and cinematographer. Dan and I don’t hang out as much as we would like, but when we do we tend to create art, we experiment, and there is a special level of trust between us.
