In this song, Dan sings that “the process is the destination,” and this quote is true in many ways. Not only does it represent the life of a singer-songwriter who is often on the road, but it also symbolizes my life as a director and cinematographer. Dan and I don’t hang out as much as we would like, but when we do we tend to create art, we experiment, and there is a special level of trust between us. Special thanks to Gaffer Brayden Heath and Key Grip Justin LaValley for bringing a few of my hair-brained setups to life.

Through the lens of STS9, this film shares collective thoughts and experiences surrounding the magic of Red Rocks and how a musical community is connected through nature, art, creativity, and love.

In July of 2024, ‪Nova Sky Stories teamed up with Colorado musical heroes The String Cheese Incident to celebrate SCI’s 30th anniversary with an electrifying, record-setting light drone show in the skies above Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado. I’m honored to have been given the opportunity to direct and edit this video for Nova, one of Kimbal Musk’s newest business ventures.

NOCOAST recently teamed up with our friends at Butter Creations to co-direct this documentary short for hip-hop star Kevin Gates. This piece turned out amazing thanks to the dynamic editing of Jack FitzWilliam.

I co-directed this music video with musician Carolyn Hunter. To achieve this dream-like look, we implemented a few subtle in-camera techniques – negative fill, atmospheric haze, and lens filtration, for example – to bring her song to life.

The NOCOAST crew spend two glorious weeks down in Telluride documenting the 48th Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival. I directed and DP’d this recap video, featuring music by The Infamous Stringdusters.

The NOCOAST crew was invited to film The Lumineers perform before an empty Broncos stadium to raise money for a Colorado Music Relief Fund livestream. With an all-star lineup of performances from iconic locations across Colorado and beyond, we helped raise over $625,000 in much-needed relief funds to help all those in the Colorado music industry affected by COVID-19. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at our shoot day in Denver.

The NOCOAST crew caught this exciting moment on-stage with Billy Strings, streaming live from the Denver’s Ogden Theater.

It was awesome to collaborate with Odesza when they SOLD OUT Red Rocks for their debut performance at the venue. Creative director Sean Kusanagi brought me on to shoot 5.5k time-lapses, and they are added into the edit for a dynamic effect.

For this video for Tycho, I coordinated an 8-camera shoot that aimed to seamlessly fuse the natural beauty of Red Rocks with musician Scott Hansen’s own audio/visual aesthetic.
