"Felt Like Love" Music Video

I co-directed this music video with musician Carolyn Hunter. To achieve this dream-like look, we implemented a few subtle in-camera techniques – negative fill, atmospheric haze, and lens filtration, for example – to bring her song to life.

2021 Telluride Bluegrass Festival Recap

The NOCOAST crew spend two glorious weeks down in Telluride documenting the 48th Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival. I directed and DP’s this recap video, featuring music by The Infamous Stringdusters.

Behind-the-Scenes with The Lumineers and NOCOAST

The NOCOAST crew was invited to film The Lumineers perform before an empty Broncos stadium to raise money for a Colorado Music Relief Fund livestream. With an all-star lineup of performances from iconic locations across Colorado and beyond, we helped raise over $625,000 in much-needed relief funds to help all those in the Colorado music industry affected by COVID-19. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at our shoot day in Denver.

"Rebels & Outlaws"

Daniel Rodriguez "Colorado" Music Video

I hit the road going south with a couple of good friends, directing and editing this music video for “Colorado.”

Billy Strings - Meet Me At The Creek (Teaser)

The NOCOAST crew caught this exciting moment on-stage with Billy Strings, streaming live from the Denver’s Ogden Theater.

Michal Menert and the Pretty Fantastics

Opening for Pretty Lights, Michal Menert and The Pretty Fantastics played a great set at Red Rocks Amphitheater. Here is a short recap video I shot and edited to promote Michal’s new album “From the Sea.”

Odesza - In Return: Red Rocks

It was awesome to collaborate with Odesza, when the SOLD OUT Red Rocks for their debut performance at the venue. Creative director Sean Kusanagi brought me on to shoot 5.5k time-lapses, and they are added into the edit for a dynamic effect. The sound design in this video is incredible, and I look forward to collaborating them again soon!

For the past 6 years, I have been fortunate to act as a director, cinematographer, and editor for the house team at WinterWonderGrass. Not only are the musical acts top notch every year – often performing outside in the middle of a cold blizzard – many of the crewmembers behind-the-scenes have become close family and friends.

STS9 - Light Years NYE

NOCOAST spent New Year’s Eve 2017 with STS9 at The Fillmore in Denver, Colorado. Tobin Voggesser directed an 8-camera stream with our new Blackmagic Designs switcher. I directed and edited this video re-cap to Tribe’s live performance of “Vapors” from that night. I had a lot of fun shooting this video on the Sony A7s2 in both 4k/1080p, Canon L Series Primes, and my Glidecam.

Tycho "Division" Live at Red Rocks

For this video for Tycho, I coordinated an 8-camera shoot that aimed to seamlessly fuse the natural beauty of Red Rocks with musician Scott Hansen’s own audio/visual aesthetic.

The Disco Biscuits – "Portal to an Empty Head"

A Studio Recording Session

Back in 2010 I got the opportunity to hang out in the studio for two weeks with one of my favorite bands, The Disco Biscuits. When working solo, you often have to get creative with your shooting and editing style to make the shoot seem more produced.

“I’m looking out a window, when I see the wind blow, maybe I won’t know when to end.” – Marc Brownstein

Not only did this shoot mark the beginning of NOCOAST, but it was also the beginning of my career as a music documentarian. The resulting edits are some of my all-time favorites, and I will always look back to these Studio 4 Sessions fondly. Here are some behind-the-scenes photos from the trip:

Grace Potter – "Instigators" Live

Grace is a BADASS.

NOCOAST was recently invited to film Grace Potter at the Boulder Theater. Armed with two Camera Goat cinema dollys and core crew of 6 videographers we filmed the whole show in multi-cam. The video above for “Instigators” turned out great with a series of fast cuts and high energy camera movement. Check out some behind-the-scenes photos below:

The Disco Biscuits – "Konkrete"

Take a TRIP around
NYC at light speed...

Back in 2008 I entered a Make-Your-Own Music Video contest for The Disco Biscuits, and won! This video was projected on the big screen at Red Rocks in front of 8,000 people. It was one hell of an introduction to my favorite music venue, and the beginning to a long relationship with TDB…
